Company History

Harbor Consulting IP Services, Inc., DNA & amino acid Sequence Listing Service, was formed in the fall of 1995 by James A. Coburn. As a former technical assistant in the biotech and pharmaceutical practice group of the Washington, D.C. law firm of Foley & Lardner, Mr. Coburn identified the need for a service oriented business aimed at assisting law firm, in-house and sole practitioner patent attorneys & agents with meeting the U.S. and foreign Sequence Listing requirements under 37 C.F.R. §§1.821-825 and WIPO Standard ST.25

Based upon the premise of providing a quality product at a reasonable cost and in a timely manner, all the while guaranteeing the final product, HARBOR CONSULTING IP Services, Inc. has grown substantially over the past seven years and counts a number of the industries leading law firms and biopharmaceutical companies as its clientele.

Finally, our staff is comprised of seasoned professionals with bio related degrees (e.g., biology, biochemistry, human physiology, etc.) and actual law firm experience specializing in various aspects of patent prosecution.
